This is the documentary broadcasted by the Südwestdeutscher Rundfunk (Southwest German Broadcaster) in connection with the forerun ARD-movie "Bis nichts mehr bleibt" (Until Nothing is Left) as well as the talk show "tough but fair" (firm but fair) on the subject of Scientology. Heiner von Rönn and Markus S. tell how their families have been destroyed by Scientology. "This famous article critical of Scientology has been the target of an organized bookburning campaign by Scientologists as detailed in the Scarff deposition. The piece was awarded the Gerald Loeb Award for distinguished business and financial journalism, the Worth Bingham Prize and the Conscience in Media Awards from the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

Scientology: To Be Perfectly Clear
Scientology: To Be Perfectly Clear
Terrific read:
Scientology: To Be Perfectly Clear
WS Bainbridge, R Stark - SA. Sociological Analysis, 1980
Abstract: Advances a theory to explain the apparent success of
Scientology in raising its members to a superhuman level of functioning
known as "clear". It is argued that empirical evidence does not support
this claim and that the state of "clear" "is not a state of personal
development at all, but a social status conferring honor within the cult's
status system and demanding certain kinds of behavior from the person
labeled `clear'." Hubbard's social mechanisms used to establish and
defend the status of "clear" are discussed. Scientology caters to those
people who suffer from chronic unhappiness or inability to perform at the
level set for themselves. It does not solve the underlying problems; it
merely "cures the complaints by ending the person's freedom to
complain."

Man Overboard: To Leave Scientology, Don Jason Had to Jump Off a Ship
"Don Jason was a Scientology officer who wanted out. Instead, he says he was held against his will, locked on a ship in the Caribbean."
[..] It always bothered him, and Jason resolved that he never would submit to the program. When the order came that he do the RPF aboard the Freewinds, he said he wanted off the ship.
No, the guards said. Do the program.
"So you're holding me against my will?"
Jason tried to walk off the ship with parishioners going on a shore excursion. The Freewinds guards stepped in his way. He tried a second time, but they blocked him again.
For three days he protested by refusing to work, but that only got him more restrictions. He needed a new approach.
THE ROLLING PIN
Jason decided to act like a good soldier, the picture of compliance. Behaving got him better work assignments and more freedom to move about the ship.
He ruled out jumping overboard. The 40-foot drop was too dangerous, and the dock walls too high, with no ladders.
The thick, 30-foot cables that moor the ship to the dock seemed his best chance. He thought through the variables.
He would have to move quickly down the cable; the guards would hurry to the dock to head him off. Timing was important. Too many people on the dock and he would create a scene. Then again, he wanted at least a few witnesses.
When the ship docked each day, he watched the cables go taut and slack with the tide. A drooping cable would leave him short of the dock. He would have to time his descent so when he reached bottom, the cable would be taut. He would have to get around the metal plate that kept rats from climbing to the ship.
He scavenged for materials to build a device that would help him quickly get down the cable.
He fashioned something like a rolling pin. Starting with a wooden dowel the thickness of a clothing rod, he sawed off a 16-inch piece. Around it he fit a 7-inch length of PVC pipe. To keep the PVC from moving side to side, he sunk drywall screws into the dowel on either end of the PVC.
For two weeks he observed and thought things through. He would have to hold his body high in case he needed to bring up his legs and slow his descent. He ate lunch on the bow every day so that when the time came, the guards wouldn't think twice about him being there.
Three months before, Jason had a title, an office and authority over hundreds of staff in Clearwater. Now his church was treating him like a prisoner.
"I'm thinking, You know what? Once I pull a stunt like this, I'll never get off this ship on my own terms. So I'm committed. Once I start this, I have to be prepared to take it all the way.
"I'm going to do whatever I have to to get off that ship, which includes fist-fighting people, yelling my head off, whatever it takes. I'm not going back on that ship. Period.''
NOV. 21, 1996
He had been on the ship six weeks when he made his move. Jason can't remember if they docked in Freeport or Nassau, just that the town had a decent-sized airport.[..]
Don Jason's route out of Scientology
Times staff In Print: Tuesday, November 3, 2009
1 August 1996: Working at Scientology's Flag Service Organization in Clearwater, Don Jason is told that the church is going to discipline him for something he felt was unfair. He leaves the next day without permission and drives on I-4 to Daytona Beach. He takes back roads north to Fernandina Beach and spends the night at a motel.
2 The next day: He continues north through Savannah. He assumes the church will look for him in his native Milwaukee, so he randomly chooses to settle in Atlanta.
3 After six weeks: He gets second thoughts about how he left. He returns to Clearwater to follow the church's approved "routing out'' process.
4 October 1996: Jason flies to the Bahamas to board Scientology's cruise ship, the Freewinds, where he becomes a virtual prisoner.
5 Six weeks later: Jason escapes over the bow of the Freewinds and makes it to the airport. He buys a ticket to Milwaukee, with a layover in Atlanta. A Scientology official buys the seat next to Jason on the leg to Atlanta. The layover: Marty Rathbun, a top Scientology executive, intercepts Jason at the Atlanta airport. Rathbun tries to persuade him to return to Clearwater and follow proper procedure to leave the church. Jason refuses, and Rathbun flies with him to Milwaukee.
6 In Milwaukee: Jason's mother and a sister pick him up at the airport. The next day, he comes to Rathbun's hotel and signs confessions to his "crimes."
7 Twelve years later: Jason works in Chicago as an operations manager for a building supply company.

Scientology's Criminal Practices
I came across ThetanBait's YouTube Channel the other day and found these amazingly accurate and professional videos I'd come across last year but lost the link to.
Easily in the top 10 damaging expose videos series on the internet. Note in the first clip, famous pianist Mario Feninger admitting he knew nothing about the abuses until the reporter told him. That was years ago and Feninger is still a scientologist, blindly ignoring what his cult is doing today. Shame on him!
Scientology's Crimes : Series of public service announcements and news clips detailing Scientology's criminal practices.
This is why thousands of people around the world protest Scientology.

News reporter Nathan Baca & KESQ go inside the Church of Scientology
It all started when Riverside County began restricting Anti-Scientology Protests
News Reporter / Assignment Editor Nathan Baca and the team at NEWS CHANNEL 3 KESQ.com of Palm Springs, Coachella Valley, CA took note of the protests and the hearings over & about Scientology's Golden Era Studio 'slave compound' and finally got their long awaited interview with the cult lackey and wow, have they done an excellent job!
Nathan Baca's EXCLUSIVE series of interviews with Scientology PR man Tommy Davis, son of actress Anne Archer show that this news atation is not afraid to ask the hard questions and get an answer.
KESQ says of Baca
Nathan's journalism philosophy is to "speak truth to power," believing it is a reporter's responsibility to keep local politicians and law enforcement accountable to the public for their actions.
Well, Thank God for men like him! A friend from anonymousdc.com sent me an email with all the links to this revealing and well reported interview series on the hard questions other reporters fear to ask Scientology.
So, please take some time and check out Parts 1-4 or the complete series 1-9 :
Part 1:The Battle Over Scientology:How the Lines Were Drawn in Riverside Co.
Part 2:
Tug of War Struggle Between Activists, Scientology Hits the Internet
Part 3:
SPECIAL INVESTIGATION: What is Scientology?
Part 4:
High-Ranking Scientology Official Explains 'Anonymous' Booklet, Videotaped Arrest
Part 5:
Scientology Official Addresses Works of L. Ron Hubbard
WATCH: The Complete Tommy Davis Interview 40 Minutes of Raw Tommy Davis Interview
As anondc of anonymousdc.com wrote:
"This interview is major. Exposing Scientology's collusion with Hemet lawmakers around Gold Base, getting the CoS to admit Xenu and space aliens are a real part of OT3, and basically stomping on the crotch of David Miscaviage. Enjoy, Anonymous. "
Well, I don't know about the crotch part but I'm certain this series has his head spinning and the orders flying. Nathan Baca certainly showed, as one anon said "balls of Steel" for getting this done. Thank you.

HUMBLE EX MEMBER OF SCIENTOLOGY DESCRIBES HIS LIFE IN THE CULT
I was really touched by this short but powerful interview of neil, a former victim of the cult of Scientology:
EX MEMBER NEIL, TALKS ABOUT THE HORRORS WHEN HE WAS INVOLVED IN THE CULT IN MANCHESTER, ST HILL AND LOS ANGELOS. by Tony & Sue aka getbeckyout
PART ONE: Neil C Interview MANCHESTER, England
PART TWO: Neil C Interview MANCHESTER, England
It brought tears to my eyes. neil truly conveyed the problems & fear so many of us experienced before we left, when we left and after we left as we came upon the truth about Scientology.
I'm doing my part to get this around the internet so scientologists and
nonscientologists alike can see it. Pass it along. Thanks
Kudos to getbeckyout aka Tony & Sue, the parents trying to get their daughter Becky out of Scientology

Give Me Back My Scientology Confessional Folders & Tapes!
Actor Jason Beghe wants his confessional and other scientology records, folders & tapes back. I want mine back, too. We are not alone in this desire. Why would Scientology want to keep records of us having told our most deepest and darkest thoughts of the past. to what was supposed to be a confidential counselor, when we don't belong to 'the church' anymore? As former members of the cult of Scientology, we are not unlike victims of the techniques described by Joost A. M. Meerloo in his excellent report called Rape Of The Mind

Beghe informed Operation Clambake Message Board aka Xenu.net that he wants all his folders back and that his request to the infamous Celebrity Center International was artfully ignored. So he wrote the Big Kahuna Cult leader David Miscavige and posted it.
You can read the letter here:
Letter to David Miscavige from Jason Beghe
Why would Beghe want thos records back? Why would I want mine back? Why would any former member want them back? Well, read the excellent Village Voice article by Tony Ortega
Former Scientologist Actor Wants His Confessional Files Back
'Jason Beghe accuses church of secretly taping Tom Cruise; writes a letter that Scientology won’t deliver' by Tony Ortega , April 29th, 2008 7:00 AM
There is no moral reason for the church to keep them, but keep them they do. I have been out for 12 years now but I invested 18 years of my life believing that L Ron Hubbard was teaching truth when it was all empty lies. The evolution of Scientology Celebrity Centers was planned by Hubbard many years before but thy needed a certain amount of credible & willing top celebrities to do all the media push. Tom Cruise came along and with others, Celebrity Centers rapidly grew. At one time, I was a member of the Celebrity Centers and treated like a celebrity because my husband was a "celebrity". Back in the 70's and 80's, the pressure was not on celebrities to push scientology but as the years went on and the membership of high end talent began to flow in, these newbies were sectioned off from the minor celebrities and had their sessions videotaped on a steady basis. I spent many of my years there during the days when they couldn't afford toilet paper, much less any video equiptment.
Although all scientologists were given the impression or told that the their secrets were confidential, many found out the hard way that scientology likes to keep the folders to use the contents as a tool to keeping the member from leaving or speaking up. So, the the evidence is overwhelming that confidentiality is just not true. For celebrities who have left the fold, like Nicole Kidman, the is a real fear that your private thoughts could wind up on the cover of The Enquirer or People Mag.
Celebrity artist former Scientologist OT VIII Michael Pattinson explains in explains how celebrities are treated and what happened to him after he left.
Thankfully, we have Jason Beghe broaching this important subject by asking for all the documentation of his life in Scientology to be returned to him. Will he get them? I woul;d hope so but he will have to go to court to force the issue. He should, however, know that there will be many others, including myself, who would join him in a class action law suit in order to get them back.
We were lied to. We were conned. It's a matter of dignity. Getting back as much of one's investment in the past as possible is what any victm want and we victims of Scientology are no exception.

Jason Beghe XenuTv Interview Highlights

This excellent 8 min video showing the highlights of the complete XenuTV interview of actor Jason Beghe by Mark Bunker was recently compiled by YouTube member svMilliways
What I like most about this is that it shows how much Jason Beghe knows about Scientology and how much he cares about those who are still members. Tom Cruise needs to listen to this.

Germany on ' What is Scientology ? '
Over at enturbulation.org, forum member 'The Society of Invisibles Watching You' posted that he's just seen this video on Youtube," about books being printed by the German government against Scientology." Here is the video on Youtube from user Anon214365:
What is Scientology?
Here is the digital version of this book in German
'Das system Scientology - Wie Scientology Functioniert 25 fragen mit antworten':
German version:
http://www.stmi.bayern.de/imperia/md...cientology.pdf
Translations of the above booklet are not available yet but here is the english translation of another report called "What is Scientology The Making of the Human Machine in the Cybernetic Learning Laboratory" written by Dr. Jürgen Keltsch, of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior Munich, in 04.08.1999 aktualisiert am 19.11.1999 . The report begins with :
1. The governmental evaluation of the Scientology organization in Germany
Like France and others, Germany considers Scientology a cult. It's good to see this organization's intentions, organizational structure, and activities scrutinized for the benefit of the public. I wish the USA would wake up and do the same.

Today Tonight's Anna Coren talks Jason Beghe & Scientology
Today Tonight did a terrific job expounding upon Mark Bunker's XenuTV's teaser interview of celebrity Jason Beghe on his exit from the folds of Scientology and why he left.
I am posting this show video here because of YouTube stupidly pulled XenuTV's account after the Beghe interview came out.
Today Tonight is 'an Australian tabloid current affairs program, produced by the Seven Network at Yahoo in competition with rival Nine Network program A Current Affair.'
I happen to think this show is more than tabloid. Of the three different editions of the program, the following video comes from the 'East Coast' edition presented by Anna Coren, who always does a professional job reporting the new. See for yourself:

'Anonymous, Nono Le Clown, Karen Pouw, the French gov't and why Rev. John Wetzel says US politicians won't talk about Scientology on the record.'
'Anonymous, Nono Le Clown, Karen Pouw, the French gov't and why Rev. John Wetzel says US politicians won't talk about Scientology on the record.'
French Scientologist and PR / 'black PR ' cult spokesperson, Karen Pouw, is working very hard lobbying the french gov't to get it's cult status whitewashed. Certainly keeping the press away from the Anonymous movement and the Martine Boublil kidnapping story is a priority.
More on Martine Boublil : " freed from Scientology; The Italian police recovered the sister of Dr. Scientologist"
There was a flap at one point when Miss Emmanuelle Mignon, the new Office Director of the presidency at l'Elysée, made mention in a speech that some groups labeled cults like Scientology were really not cults. This caused an uproar in France, and as Roger tells it, she wasn't informed correctly and is now corrected on the matter.
Pouw thought she had a win on that one but ss former church of scientology of Lyon France executive now critic Roger Gonnet stated:
"The story about Emmanuelle Mignon, the Office Director of Sarkozy, whom I visited for more than an hour some weeks ago after her declaration, as Pouw said, is now totally false indeed, here is the story that I know very well. Miss Mignon was'nt informed correctly 'from under', and did ignore a lot of facts about cults when she pronounced the sentences. Just after her unchecked speech about scientology and cults (two very short sentences where she said "Cults are a no-problem, that she denied having said, and "regarding Scientology, I don't know them, but one can wonder"), three TVs, four radios and some newspapers interviewed me about what she said. I thought what was the best solution, being certain that she could'nt have pronounced these sentences if she had known, I decided to say that I'll ask her a rendez-vous. I did two days later and got an answer very fast; I met her more than an hour along on a friday evening, with not the least interruption, announcing her that on saturday, she would find a great article also in the media - that was the Boublil affair. I let her my book 'La Secte' " for further information.
Pouw is very wrong saying that the climate changed, since as soon as Miss Mignon had said this erroneous utterance, medias exploded of articles insisting on her wrongness and on the cults problems. The president was immediately alerted and said that the cults WERE a real problem, and the Prime Minister announced that the MIVILUDES ways would be reinforced."
I agree and am grateful for the work Roger and Anonymous is doing there. One can read more on Roger Gonnet's visit with the French officials on this matter here
So, Scientology is widely considered a cult in France. The people there have access to their representatives so a protest is not necessarily a need to gain their attention, as it is here in the US where reporter Emmanuelle Richard was unable to get a quote about Anonymous' concerns about the cult of Scientology from ANY politician in the US for her article which came out yesterday on the Anonymous v
Scientology issue in the USA in the mainstream french publication Liberation:
Guerrilla hidden against Scientology
or you can read the article in French
So, while the Anonymous movement in France appears to be small, the viewpoint among
the french people is that Scientology a cult is widespread.
Here are some quotes from Ms. Richard's blog piece, which includes parts of her article that did not make it into Liberation piece. This gives a good picture of the situation here in the USA vs France in the need for people to protest loudly and anonymously:
April 13, 2008 Anonymous: 9,000 on Operation Reconnect?(updated)by french journalist and Washington DC correspondent, Emmanuelle Richard says:
[..]Today's French daily Libération ran my story about the fascinating Anonymous movement critical of Scientology (click here for a Google Translation), as seen from the U.S. The paper version has a gallery of photos of masked "Anons" taken during the Paris demonstration on Saturday, complete with their somewhat inspirational leader Nono Le Clown (read Renaud Lecadre's account of the very small demonstration
here.) This third edition of Anonymous' global protest was called "Operation Reconnect" and I wish I could have attended the Washington demo but I'm on vacation outside of the U.S. Anonymous forums seem to say that between 200 and 300 people showed up in the U.S. capital, roughly as many as on March 15, when I came across their previous demonstration by accident:.[..]
[..]
Due to the lack of space, the paper didn't end up running a sidebar on the surprisingly low participaion in France: "I don't think that [Anonymous] really exists in France," said Karin Pouw, a Church of Scientology International spokeswoman, before mentioning with satisfaction that "the situation has changed" (in February, French president Nicolas Sarkozy's Head of Cabinet, Emmanuelle Mignon,
questioned the use of the word "cult" to describe Scientology.)
Here's how French Anons explain the lack of involvement in the usually demonstration-happy France: this is due to the English-only (until very recently) content on Anonymous' main websites and forums and the fact that "Scientology is just not visible in France," according to a young computer guy and key French Anon.
When a cult is recognized as such in a country, "people don't have the same motivation [as in the U.S.] to fight for the cause." A point worth mentioning: CoS opponents such as Nono Le Clown seem to be able to line up meetings with elected officials "of different parties" to express their concerns about Scientology.
Getting to talk to your representative about Scientology is another story in the United States, and I wish this aspect could have been mentioned in more detail in the Liberation article. I contacted several lobbyists, politicians who have a reputation for being weary of cults, and the American Psychiatric Association (Scientology is actively fighting against psychiatry) and they either all declined or ignored my requests for comments for this article. "Many elected officials and religious leaders are afraid to say publicly what they tell me privately: some of them tell me that they've already been intimidated by the Church of Scientology," said Rev. John Wetzel, a critic who acts as a de facto unpaid "representative" for Scientology detractors in Washington. Arnie Lerma, a former CoS member turned
opponent is more blunt: "We’re fighting in guerilla warfare style because there is no courage in Washington.” [..]
http://www.emmanuelle.net/2008/04/anonymous_12_000_on_operation.html
Indeed it's a war and we are winning it by perseverence and getting the facts out to the public.
However, there is work to be done to dispell the image David Miscavige and Karen Pouw are trying to fix in the minds of those they try to influence on behalf of Scientology. Let the people of France know how important Anonymous is in helping unmask the business practices of the cult of Scientology by reading Emmanuelle Richard's blog and article in Liberation and commenting your postition. As well, let the US government representatives know you want them to take a stand against and investigate the dangers of The Church of Scientology and it's the exempt status. You can find out more on this here:

The Lighthouse Letter -- Operation Reconnect -- Why We Fight
The Lighthouse Letter -- Operation Reconnect -- Why We Fight
This beautiful video and poem, along with the following information. has been brought to us by an Anonymous person named LRonHu88ard.
"The Lighthouse Letter" tells the story of families torn by the COS's policy of disconnection.
Ida Camburn, 85, was disconnected by her son over thirty years ago. An active critic of the organization's policy of disconnection, she is beloved by the many individuals and families she has strengthened, comforted, and inspired throughout the past three decades.
Ken and Grace Aaron have not heard from their son Zach in ten years. They have not asked that he leave the Church; only that he break his long silence and communicate with them.
Jenna Miscavige-Hill, Kendra Wiseman, and Astra Woodcraft are young women who braved the Church's disconnection policy, and remain separated from many loved ones inside. They came together to form a web community of support for ex-scientology kids.
Tory "Magoo" Christman, aka "Wise Glasses Lady," left the CoS in 2000, leaving behind three decades of family, friendship, and devotion to the organization. She has been a guiding star for Anonymous, urging non-violence and persistence in seeking its aims.
On April 12, 2008, Anonymous will take a stand with these individuals and others, to engage in peaceful protest of the COS's policies of disconnection.
Please stand with us.

THE LIGHTHOUSE LETTER
Deep within your cavern dark, a spring of truth abides.
How I hope you find this bottle, for my kisses are inside.
The light outside is dazzling; escape's a costly prize.
But gentle reader, grasp my hand -- and I shall be your eyes.
Behold a gallant queen, her son lost at sea.
She built a lighthouse to the stars, in hopes that he would see.
Her heartlights sweep the beach at night, the prince perchance to see.
In a lifeboat rolling on the waves, is where I'll wait for thee.
Eleven thousand suns and moons have risen, shone and sighed,
o'er the throne of her persistent heart denied.
I've met a king, a prodigal with careworn face so kind.
On foot he bears the banner of a son he's vowed to find.
Behind him stands a motley crew of knights both young and old.
Their merriments are legend; their cause for us is bold.
And upon a mighty web composed of sliver strands,
three sisters weave the orphans' tales to far and distant lands.
Eyes behind wise spectacles are blurred by tears and rain,
and love for shipwrecked families devoured for worldly gain.
Eleven thousand suns and moons, ten million twinkling lights,
have gazed silent on our tragedy -- and this is why they fight.
Their heartlights sweep the beach at night, and lifeboats dot the sea.
May fortune speed you safely here, to reconnect with me.
