Give Me Back My Scientology Confessional Folders & Tapes!

Actor Jason Beghe wants his confessional and other scientology records, folders & tapes back. I want mine back, too. We are not alone in this desire. Why would Scientology want to keep records of us having told our most deepest and darkest thoughts of the past. to what was supposed to be a confidential counselor, when we don't belong to 'the church' anymore? As former members of the cult of Scientology, we are not unlike victims of the techniques described by Joost A. M. Meerloo in his excellent report called Rape Of The Mind




Beghe informed Operation Clambake Message Board aka Xenu.net that he wants all his folders back and that his request to the infamous Celebrity Center International was artfully ignored. So he wrote the Big Kahuna Cult leader David Miscavige and posted it.

There is no moral reason for the church to keep them, but keep them they do. I have been out for 12 years now but I invested 18 years of my life believing that L Ron Hubbard was teaching truth when it was all empty lies. The evolution of Scientology Celebrity Centers was planned by Hubbard many years before but thy needed a certain amount of credible & willing top celebrities to do all the media push. Tom Cruise came along and with others, Celebrity Centers rapidly grew. At one time, I was a member of the Celebrity Centers and treated like a celebrity because my husband was a "celebrity". Back in the 70's and 80's, the pressure was not on celebrities to push scientology but as the years went on and the membership of high end talent began to flow in, these newbies were sectioned off from the minor celebrities and had their sessions videotaped on a steady basis. I spent many of my years there during the days when they couldn't afford toilet paper, much less any video equiptment.

Although all scientologists were given the impression or told that the their secrets were confidential, many found out the hard way that scientology likes to keep the folders to use the contents as a tool to keeping the member from leaving or speaking up. So, the the evidence is overwhelming that confidentiality is just not true. For celebrities who have left the fold, like Nicole Kidman, the is a real fear that your private thoughts could wind up on the cover of The Enquirer or People Mag.

Thankfully, we have Jason Beghe broaching this important subject by asking for all the documentation of his life in Scientology to be returned to him. Will he get them? I woul;d hope so but he will have to go to court to force the issue. He should, however, know that there will be many others, including myself, who would join him in a class action law suit in order to get them back.

We were lied to. We were conned. It's a matter of dignity. Getting back as much of one's investment in the past as possible is what any victm want and we victims of Scientology are no exception.

What I like most about this is that it shows how much Jason Beghe knows about Scientology and how much he cares about those who are still members. Tom Cruise needs to listen to this.

Foxnews in Kansas City provides excellent coverage of the situation between CoS and Anonymous and includes an important interview with Bernard Headley, whose now ex-wife joined the cult and put his kids to work in the church gulags, which made it near impossible for him to have any contact with them; Bernie talks about how he helped one* of his kids escape Scientology and how he has never given up and is still searching for his daughter Stephanie. Bernie's a real hero in my book!

WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH SCIENTOLOGY? Parts I & II

'What's the Matter with Scientology?', Ross Douthat of Atlantic dot com. asks. He then provides accurate answers in 2 separate articles in reply to Mark Oppenheimer's puff piece on Scientology and his response Douthat's 1 sentence wham of Part I. The more extensive Part II is a comment on Oppenheimer's response to Part I. Both are excellent and worth reading.

As I commented to Douthat's Part II :

"If Mr Oppenheimer were a Scientologist, he'd wear the label 'Theetie Weetie' , a meaning Hubbard gave to those who sugar coat the hard truth because they cannot handle it.

Mark Oppenheimer tried unsuccessfully to conclude his opinion of Scientology based upon the unique situation Milton Katselas has managed to keep himself in. Being able to control his own involvement in the cult to his own advantage.

Katselas is the exception to the rule other scientologists must follow because he's a 'celebrity' who they are afraid of. You see, the church forgot Katselas about back in the 80's when David Miscavige took reign. All he has to do is make a few phone calls announcing he's called it quits, and the cardboard church falls apart in Hollywood.

Katselas is a fringe member who has not really moved up the cult 'bridge to total freedom' in years, sitting comfortably right where he is, using the parts of scientology that he feels are helpful, gaining a steady flow of clientele as a 'celebrity' while keeping the church staff & management pitbulls at bey.

One day I hope Katselas sees the damage he's doing to the minds of others by creating this facade around the truth, flimsey as it may seem to us 'wogs'.

Cruise and the "PR purposes of a dangerous and totalitarian brainwashing organization"

There are many articles out this week about the German military's stance against Scientology and it's PR pusher, Tom Cruise.

Here is an exerpt from Reuters via one of the more respected German media outlets:

The German Defense Ministry has said it will not permit Tom Cruise to film scenes in a movie about a plot to kill Hitler at historical World War II sites in Berlin. The reason: Politicians don't want Germany to be seen as promoting the Scientology cult.

Germany's Defense Ministry has said it will ban the Hollywood makers of a film about a plot to kill Hitler from shooting scenes at military sites in Berlin because its heartthrob star, Tom Cruise, is a Scientologist. Filming is expected to start in July on "Valkyrie," a drama about a failed plot hatched by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg to kill Hitler using a briefcase bomb. [..]

During a session on Friday in the Bundestag, Germany's parliament, the cult expert for the governing conservative Christian Democrats, Antje Blumenthal, said that Defense Minister Franz-Josef Jung told her "there was no question" about whether filming could take place at German facilities. [..]

But Blumenthal has remained undeterred in her campaign against the actor and the cult, whose beliefs are based on the science fiction writings of L. Ron Hubbard. "We have to present a united front against Scientology," she said. Blumenthal accused the organization of spreading views in the tradition of National Socialism - "and I find it, to say the least, odd that someone who represents this organization would be able to film at the site of a memorial to resistance against National Socialism of all places."

Any filming at Bendlerblock, she told Der Tagesspiegel, "would be public relations work done for this organization, and that's not the sort of thing we need to support, especially since Mr. Cruise misses no opportunity to promote Scientology."

A party spokesman for the Christian Democrats in the city of Berlin took the statement even further, telling the paper: "Resistance against the National Socialist dictatorship must not be abused for the PR purposes of a dangerous and totalitarian brainwashing organization like Scientology."
