Run time: 30:38
Directed by Karl-Rainer Blumenthal
Produced by Purinton Pictures
Featuring footage of

L. Ron Hubbard
Ron DeWolf
Mike Rinder
Heber Jentzsch
Robert Vaughn Young
Tom Cruise
John Travolta

I am impressed! 22 year old Bryn Mawr & Haversford College graduate student, archivist and film maker Karl-Rainer Blumenthal has created an excellent collage of Hubbard's legacy

As a former long time member of scientology, I can tell you that this film shows what the Cult of Scientology never wanted anyone to see, whether they were a member or not.

I cried after it was over. It was very cathartic for me. Blumenthal is a filmmaker to remember.

I appreciated reading over the blow by blow account of you who either listened and/or viewed the KCAA webstream today. I wish I could have gotten to all the calls. If there were any of you on hold that I did not get to, my apologies. I plan on doing a follow-up 3 hour show in the next four to possibly six weeks from now.
Below is a link to the guest book on the KCAA "comment page" over on KCAARADIO dot com. I would truly appreciate any of you letting the owner and management of the station know how you felt about todays show, positive or negative as they closely monitor the comments. Be sure to mention my name or the name of the show, "The Many Moods of Vince Daniels" if you are so inclined. A link that takes you directly to the guest book is provided below. MORE FACES FROM SCIENTOLOGY & MORE TO COME

UPDATED: April 2008

I am new to creating pages with FACES so expect the layouts and pages to change soon. I would really like to have more pics per page & the compilation to be different.

Do you know who any of these people are? I do.

There are memories for at least one of the people per picture, some good. Some bad. Each tells a story. Short or long, good or bad, each story is part of my history when I was a Scientologist.
I have much to say, but that is for another day. Pictures first!

SOME FACES OF MY PAST IN SCIENTOLOGY

A few of the many faces of my past while a member of Scientology. Can you guess who is who?

Scientologists & Ex-Scientologists with Christian Roots

Anyone, including Scientolgists, can turn to God. Many quietly have and they've gained spiritual and mental strength to get through the storms of change as they leave the scientologist life behind forever.

The meaning and purpose of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is far more glorious and significant than the destructive goals of 'clearing a mind' the Hubbard way. The result is a false sense of self in the pursuit of a false spiritual state. Hubbard made it so that we would want to eliminate our time track, just as Creed Pearson mentioned recently. But a Scientologist is supposed to know how to know even when he doesn't have a clue.

I am a survivor of years of Scientology indoctrination and experience. Without my faith in God, I would not be able to even begin to talk about it here. I turned to the God who never gave up on me even when I had given up on him. If you have ever known the love of God, even the christian faith in particular, then the Holy Spirit will speak to you and you will naturally respond.
Jesus said:

"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine." John 10:14

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew Ch 11:v29-30

"As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. "John 10:15

"Interestingly, biblical faith isn't believing against the evidence. Instead, faith is a kind of knowing that results in action. The clearest definition comes from Hebrews 11:1. This verse says, 'Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.' In fact, when the New Testament talks about faith positively it only uses words derived from the greek root [pistis] which means 'to be persuaded.' In those verses from Hebrews, we find the words, 'hope', 'assurance', 'conviction' that is, confidence. Now, what gives us this confidence?"

Christian faith is not belief in the absence of evidence. It is the proper response to the evidence. Koukl, 'Christian faith cares about the evidence...the facts matter. You can't have assurance for something you don't know you're going to get. You can only hope for it. This is why the resurrection of Jesus is so important. It gives assurance to the hope. Because of a Christian view of faith, Paul is able to say in 1 Corinthians 15 that when it comes to the resurrection, if we have only hope, but no assurance - if Jesus didn't indeed rise from the dead in time/space history - then we are of most men to be pitied. This confidence Paul is talking about is not a confidence in a mere 'faith' resurrection, a mythical resurrection, a story-telling resurrection. Instead, it's a belief in a real resurrection. If the real resurrection didn't happen, then we're in trouble. The Bible knows nothing of a bold leap-in-the-dark faith, a hope-against-hope faith, a faith with no evidence. Rather, if the evidence doesn't correspond to the hope, then the faith is in vain, as even Paul has said.'

So in conclusion, faith is not a kind of religious hoping that you do in spite of the facts. In fact, faith is a kind of knowing that results in doing. A knowing that is so passionately and intelligently faithful to Jesus Christ that it will not submit to fideism, scientism, nor any other secularist attempt to divert and cauterize the human soul by hijacking knowledge."

"Faith is about 'just trusting' God isn't It?" Tom Price

Former Scientologist Tom Weeks On What Was So Good About Something So Bad

Another Article Scientology Does Not Want You To Know About:

Tom Weeks of Denver, worked for 1 year as a Sea Org member of the Church of Scientology before severing his billion year contract and moving on.

Yet moving on and trying to explain to family and friends why you got involved in this cult in the first place was no easy task. 15 years + later after he left, he posted his thoughts about what was so good about something so bad as Scientology.

"Feeling Good and Certainty in Scientology From an Ex-Sea Org Member Who Never Got Auditing."

Taking a Stand

Taking a Stand!

Over at at Google's alt.religion.scientology group I read a copy of a very courageous post by a Dr. Donna Shannon, who recently left the cult.

She originally posted this and others to the popular OCMB Operation Clambake Message Board. Since I am new at this blog stuff, I ask that you go to the link below and read it for yourself.

It provides insight into the Church of Scientology and, more importantly, inspiration for those wanting out.

Thank you Dr. Shannon!

1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
Friend gave me a book.

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
It first appeared that Scientology had all the answers
but then I did Clear to OT 8.

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
Some drug use, not heavy.

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
Members were declared suppressive at the drop of a hat. Hubbard said that 2 1/2 percent of people were suppressive but it looked like the church was declaring far more than that.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
Thought it was the way out of this universe and a road to total freedom and not just a road between the church and my bank accounts.

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
no

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?

The 10 Hidden Truths of Scientology
or
The 10 Things Tom Cruise Doesn’t Believe are True About Scientology

1) Scientologists have accidents, get sick and die at about the same rate as non-Scientologists.
2) Scientologists who rely on the church to cure their cancer or any other disease (which many have) will or have died of that disease.
3) No Scientologist IQ has ever been raised any significant amount by applying Scientology or Dianetics. IQ scores are raised slightly only by taking the same IQ test over and over and over and over again. That’s the true Scientology method for raising IQ.
4) Nearly all OT 8’s (highest spiritual state) are doing the same work and making around the same amount of money as their non-Scientology peers.
5) 100% of all OT 8’s have no OT powers, that is, able to leave their body, move objects, recall past lifetime skills, etc. All 10 Hidden Truths also apply to OT 8's.
6) No Scientologist can give you any verifiable details about any past life, even their immediate past life. Details like their full name, parent’s names, children's names, places they lived, etc.
7) No Scientologist can prove they are stably exterior (out of the body) with full perception. Such as reading a credit card number 3 inches behind their head.

8) No Scientologist will ever be allowed to do their own Mission Into Time (verify their own past life’s), as Hubbard appeared to do. Hubbard knew it couldn’t be done.
9) No Scientologist can prove they are a spiritual being.

10) No Scientologist is or ever will be totally free as a spiritual being.
8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
It's on a fixed track, it can't change without bringing down the whole church.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
Never!!!

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
Please send the 10 Hidden Truths About Scientology to all your Scientology friends and anybody you know who is thinking about joining the church. Hopefully they will stop and think about what they are about to do or, if a member, decide it's time to stop, before the church
drains them of all their money and self-respect.
