More Narconon Tax liens

Recently, reports have surfaced documenting tax liens the IRS and state treasury departments have been placing on Narconons & The Church of Scientology across the USA.

I posted what was found over the last couple of months and now I'm posting some more.

Narconon Stone Hawk Rehab Center in MI( aka A Forever Recovery ) owes alot of tax to the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Michigan Depart of Treasury according to lien judgements on record. With interest compounding daily, Stone Hawk could be at the $750,000 owing mark with the IRS.

Here we have liens on taxes owning and in one case, paid of, but they are still owning alot to the Michigan State Treasury:

Maybe that's why Narconon is currently doing business in MI as "A Forever Recovery"

Now, back to Narconon Georgia aka Narconon International, Inc in GA. Seems they owe much more in quarterly payroll taxes. This one coveres was was owed for the 1st & 3rd quarters of 2008. 9412 tax is withholding payroll. Looks like they may have fiinally gotten busted for not paying taxes on all those 'independent contractor' $100.week slaves they had at their facility and it's illegal residence.

Expect more.

Narconon and their Federal Tax Liens

I see that Narconon, one of several infamous scientology front groups is in the news again.

Narconon International dba Narconon Florida,Inc, just got busted for under-reporting payroll and not paying the IRS the appropriate payroll taxes in 2006.

I thought it was just an isolated case when I found that Narconon Georgia got busted for not paying appropriate payroll taxes earlier this year. Seems they too didn't have the money to pay it off, at least at the time I saw this:

Narconon Georgia got busted for the year 2007, as you can see here.

It's good to see is that the IRS is auditing Narconon payroll records. I suspect that there are more of these liens out there and more audits to come.

Who says Narconon isn't Scientology? Narconon Psych Waiver

Who says Narconon isn't Scientology? Just read the Narconon "illegal PC" Waiver:

The person who was made to sign this had been in detox for a week and does not even recall signing it. It was faxed over by VISA to the mother in her dispute to get her money back from being ripped off.

The reason the person was made to sign it was that he/she had at one time been prescribed Lexipro, having taken 4 pills over a 4 day period. Period.

To Scientology and Narconon, it's ok to discriminate against anyone having taken any amount of 'psych' medication.

Scientology and it's Dangerous Front Groups

Recent Scientology Related Deaths

There have been two known recent deaths of Scientology front group program participants. One was a Narconon 'student' the other was a Criminon 'student'. Both were on the Hubbard's drug rehabilitation steps when they died. Both were loved and lost their lives at the hands of scientology practices. Both were situations of preventable negligence. Both are being investigated.

THE DEATH OF PATRICK W. DESMOND

July 11 marked the one month anniversary of the negligent and avoidable death of a well loved guy named Patrick "Rico" Desmond who died while under the supervision of Narconon of Georgia while on their rehab program. A candle light vigil service was held and video taped in front of the Church of Scientology of Georgia to recognize this terrible loss:

We are awaiting the autopsy but you can read what is known about this situation here and you can find out more about Patrick at his memorial site here

'STUDENT' COMMITS SUICIDE DURING CRIMINON DRUG REHAB DETOX

CODY BATES hanged himself at the San Francisco SBDC New Life Center Criminon facility on August 27, 2008. He'd been admitted to the facility on August 24th and began detox the next day. During the first day of detox, he had been administered medication with known side effects that included suicidal ideation to help facilitate the detox. Cody's mother thought he was under medical care and asked SBDC New LIfe Staff to provide 24 hr suicide watch of Cody because of statements he made to staff indicating he might commit suicide. The staff promised to keep a watchful eye but did not follow through and Cody was found on the 27th to have committed suicide. Apparently there was no medical personnel at the facility either.

Here is legal complaint filed by the victim's mother. I hope she sues the hell out of them:

Cody's mother is suing for negligence and wrongful death among othere things, and rightfully so. Her lawyer has been informed of the fact that the facility is not licensed by CA ADP despite the Association for Better Living
and Education (ABLE) press release about this place ( one of 5 or so 'facilities' operated in Single Room Occupancy Hotels in the City of San Francisco.)

Over at the Suppressive Person Defense League I found a story about this scam from scientology's front group coordinator called ABLE:

"The center has also been granted their license as a drug and alcohol recovery center by the California State Department of Drug and Alcohol. It now operates at an average of 50 students on the program at a time, and the center is still expanding — now having control of over 200 beds throughout 4 hotels in the area." http://www.able.org/news/

Here is their current website: http://www.newlifecentersf.org
Director and scientologist Richard Prescott owns http://SOMANEWLIFECENTER.Org

This is CLEARLY a Scientology program, incorporating the NarCONon drug rehab with the Criminon ' LIfe Skills.

Not surprisingly, neither San Francisco New Life Center, SOCIAL BETTERMENT DEVELOPMENT COMPANY or SBDC New Life are licensed by the California Alcohol and Drug Program, despite promoting that they are via the Facility locator at the federal governemnt site SAMHSA

Global Locator - Criminon Groups Around the World

Richard Prescott is the main culprit in running this large scale detox program without a license. He also reported falsely to the federal facility locator site that it was licensed by ADP. He's currently being sued along with SBDC and related parties. May Cody Bates rest in peace.

SAFE ALTERNATIVES TO NARCONON

Alternatives to the infamous ' Narconon' drug rehabilitation program? You bet!

Often I get emails in which readers of the internet have concerns or bad experiences with Narconon, or have read testimonials about anothers bad experiences with Narconon and are asking where one can find a good drug rehabilitation facility to help their their suffering loved one.

Since I am not familiar with the particulars of other programs that are available, I refer them to the federal Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration Drug Rehabilitation Program Referral Hotline, along with links to the SAMHSA online Facility Locator and drug information pages there.

This federal referral line will be able to help anyone locate other facilities besides the few Narconon's that exist in the USA. This includes detox and 'step down' facilities close to home.

There are many many facilities in the USA.The Facility Locator shows those facilities nearby that hold appropriate accreditations (or lack of them, as in the case of Narconon), and whether the facility takes insurances, has bilingual staff and so on. This Facility Locator has been very helpful for me in being able to help other's whose loved ones need a safe and medically sound program.

I urge everyone to bookmark this page and keep the information at hand in the event of oneday needing an appropriate facility to send someone to:

HOW BAD IS NARCONON?

The Luthy case against Narconon, soon to be settled, read as the the majority of complaints all lumped into one case. You have to read this to see just how bad Narconon is ( courtesy State of New Mexico, County of Bernalillo Clerk ).

STATE OF NEW MEXICO
COUNTY OF BERNALILLO
SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT ENDORSED
FILED IN MY OFFICE THIS
JAN 09 2007

FRED LUTHY and
PHYLLIS LUTHY, [signed: Juanito M. Duran]
CLERK DISTRICT COURT

Plaintiffs,

v. No. CV 2007 00228

NARCONON STONE HAWK REHABILITATION CENTER, INC.,

Defendant.

VERIFIED COMPLAINT FOR FRAUD IN THE INDUCEMENT, UNFAIR OR
DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES BREACH OF CONTRACT AND UNJUST
ENRICHMENT

1. Fred Luthy and Phyllis Luthy are residents of Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

2. Defendant Narconon Stone Hawk Rehabilitation Center, Inc. (“Narconon”) is a Michigan corporation with its principal place of business in Battle Creek, Michigan.

3. The acts and events giving rise to this complaint occurred in Bernalillo County, and the harm resulting occurred in Bernalillo County.

4. This court has jurisdictions over the subject matter and the parties, and venue is proper in this forum.

General Allegations

5. In early July, 2006, Fred Luthy contacted Narconon about the possibility of Narconon providing treatment for Mr. Luthy's son, John Luthy.

6. Fred Luthy spoke with Doug McGarry (“McGarry”), who represented himself as an intake counselor for Narconon. McGarry gave Mr. Luthy some general information and took Mr. Luthy's phone number.

7. In the weeks that followed, Fred Luthy and Phyllis Luthy (“the Luthys”) received no less than six (6) phone calls at their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from McGarry.

8. During these conversations with McGarry, he told the Luthys that he was a former student of Narconon and represented it as an appropriate treatment option for their son, John.

9. The Luthys informed McGarry that John has a serious drug dependency issue and was not a willing participant for the Narconon program. Phyllis Luthy informed McGarry on several occasions that John would not want to remain at Narconon and would be very difficult to control.

10. McGarry assured the Luthys that Narconon could adequately address their concerns and that if they could get John to the program in Michigan that Narconon “knew exactly how to deal with” someone like John.

11. On more than 5 occasions Phyllis Luthy reminded McGarry that John was very difficult and would likely not want to remain at the Narconon center. Each time McGarry assured Mrs. Luthy that once John was there the Narconon staff could assure that John would stay and be treated.

12. Also, the Luthys received no less than six (6) phone calls at their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from a woman who identified herself as Desiree, represented herself as former student of the Narconon center and assured the Luthys that the Narconon program would be able to effectively treat their difficult, drug addicted, son.

13. Upon information and belief, Desiree received the Luthys' contact information from, and was encouraged to call them by, a representative of Narconon.

14. The Luthys were repeatedly assured by representatives of Narconon that, once John was received at the Narconon Center, it was a guarantee that they would be able to treat him.

15. McGarry informed the Luthys that the “tuition” for the Narconon program was $23,500.00 and that an account would be opened for John in which the Luthys could deposit money for his incidentals while at the center.

16. On, or about, August 25, 2006, Fred Luthy's bank wired $25,000.00 to Narconon for the cost of the tuition and $1,500.00 for John's account.

17. On, or about, August 25, 2006, John Luthy arrived at the Narconon center to begin treatment.

18. Upon information and belief from August 25, 2006 until August 30, 2006, John Luthy received no treatment and was merely housed at the center as he became increasing uncomfortable, irritated and impatient while undergoing the symptoms of drug withdrawal and craving.

19. Upon information and belief on, or about, August 30, 2006, John demanded that he be released from the center and Narconon had him driven to a nearby motel and left him there.

20. The Luthys were informed that John was terminated from the program for “violating the rules contained in the student handbook” and that, despite the fact that they provided him no treatment and merely housed him for four days, Narconon would be retaining the entire $23,500.00 tuition.

21. Despite several demands Narconon has refused and failed to return any portion of the tuition and has further refused to return the $1,500.00 deposited into John's account.

Complaints about Narconon

Do You, or Someone You Know, Have Unresolved Complaints With Any Narconon Program? You aren't alone. The list of common complaints is lengthy.

Despite what people are told, Narconon is Scientology. It's also a rip off, preying on loved ones and individuals desperate to be free of drug abuse. $24,000 - $29,0000 and upward is alot of money to lose. It's happening more and more and people are getting fed up.

Once a person forks that money over, in far too many cases it's as if the worst nightmare of their lifetime appears. If one does not agree with the program, especially the Scientology aspects of the program, they are harassed, isolated, and or kicked out. Phones seem to be bugged. Getting out is the first long step. Getting a refund then winds up being a battle of having to pester, threaten with legal means the organization to get someone to take responsibility for promises never delivered upon.

I've been getting emails lately from people who are upset with, or trying to get a refund from, one of the various Narconon programs across the United States. Each one of these people had a story similar to these cases:

Tara J's Experience
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Stop-Narconon/Personal/TaraJ/

The Beha Family experience : http://www.scientomogy.com/narconon_scam.php

Fred and Phyllis Luthy v Narconon Stonehawk Case:
Luthy Family Lawsuit Against Stone Hawk is for Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices. In January 2007, the Luthy family of Albuquerque, New Mexico filed a suit against Narconon Stone Hawk for fraud, unfair or deceptive trade practices, and unjust enrichment.

These and and others which can all be found here:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Stop-Narconon/StoneHawk/

In looking over multi state court and BBB records and cpmplaints, there is a real surge happening. Mistreatment, deceptive advertising, breach of contract, and enforced scientology beliefs are just a few of the same complains seen over and over again. I am gathering up the BBB & state case records information and will post it in chunks as I get it. I just want victims to know that they can do something about the injustice and mistreatment they received in exchange for their hard earned money and they are within their rights to obtain refunds.

The most important thing I can tell people is to immediately register at and add your complain to the other complains against Narconon at
http://www.ripoffreport.com/

Type in their search box NARCONON, and you'll be directed to the page of complaints.

The more reports that are filed there, the more leverage victims have with the states and federal government in getting full investigations done of this fraudulent organization.

For those who have not done so, get your story on the internet if it's not up there yet. It could be the key to helping you in your particular situation. 2 or 3 victims from the same state or county can do much together to get a complaint taken seriously enough to warrent a complete investigation.

If you like, you can also email me your story and I will get it posted on the internet for you, even if you want to remain anonymous. For those needing information on who to contact , where to go with your complaint, email me and let me know what county and state you live in so I can send you information.

Take a minute and visit these sites, where you can get more information about Narconon:

Mind Control Cults

I was once in the cult of scientology. I had no idea what a cult was. I am glad I am out but when I was in, I was very dedicated. Someone has made a video of all the traits one will find in a cult so that others may prevent becoming victims.

This YouTube video demonstrates how people are brought into cults and how they are treated when they try to leave. It's stated as being a video about 'how to start a cult' but the truth is that this is a video that should be viewed by everyone, expecially current and former cult members. It's good to see how people are duped.

Mind Control Cults

Scientology has many front groups, like Narconon, Criminon, WISE, CCHR & ABLE. You may find yourself involved with any one of them so keep this video in mind and be alert. It may cost you your life if you don't.
