SCIENTOLOGY SCHIZO By LINDA STASI - New York Post Online Edition
SCIENTOLOGY SCHIZO
HIS MOM'S RELIGION SAID, NO MEDS. THAT EDICT MAY HAVE COST HER LIFE
By LINDA STASI - New York Post Online Edition (Fair Use Exerpts)
"October 27, 2006
PERHAPS it's less of a stretch for Scientologists to believe that aliens arrived here in a spaceship, exploded, and stuck bits of their souls on us, than it is for other religions to believe there was a talking, burning bush or a savior who walked on water.
All religions believe they are the, er, gospel truth.
Most religions, however, have withstood the test of some time and were not created by a science fiction writer. "
"The story is about the horrific 2003 murder of a gorgeous, upstate, Scientologist mom, Elli Perkins, by her 28-year old schizoid son, Jeremy.
"And what a show it is! It will make your hair stand on end. "
The unmistakable conclusion is that the burden for her murder (Jeremy stabbed his mom 77 times!) lies with Scientology and its belief that - as one Scientology former bigwig put it - "psychology and psychiatrists are the rats and vermin of our society."
"The Perkins family refused to have Jeremy treated with anti-psychotic medications despite the fact that he'd been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic .......... "
"You will hear from many of the principals involved, as well as experts recommended by the Citizen's Commission on Human Rights International, which is a group whose letterhead explains that it was "established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology to investigate and expose psychiatric violations of human rights."
"Watch this excellent report and decide for yourself. It will be one of the most riveting hours you'll see on TV this year."
"48 Hours Mystery: Scientology - A Question of Faith" Tomorrow night at 10 on CBS

SCIENTOLOGY - A QUESTION OF FAITH
Did A Mother's Faith Contribute To Her Murder?
Don't miss this important story : 48 HOURS Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 on CBS 10 p.m. ET/PT
'(CBS) Why would a 28-year-old man, described as sweet, kind and gentle, take a knife to his mother one morning in 2003 and stab her over 70 times?
Jeremy Perkins, who had been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, came to believe that his mother, Elli, was evil and out to get him. Experts say the brutal murder might never have occurred, had he received proper treatment to control his psychotic delusions. But Jeremy’s parents were devout Scientologists and their religion strongly opposes psychiatric treatment.
Did Elli Perkins' faith contribute to her death? 48 Hours correspondent Peter Van Sant explores the issue this Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. '
"I tried to slit my wrists...but I wouldn't die, so I decided to do my mom instead," Jeremy Perkins told police after the murder.
'Jeremy’s chilling words describe his actions on March 13, 2003, while he was in an active psychotic state.
The Perkins family cared deeply for their son and sought treatment within the principles of their faith. A lawyer for Jeremy's father told 48 Hours that Jeremy was seen by both physicians and mental health practitioners, including a psychiatrist. But court records unsealed by 48 Hours indicate that Jeremy’s treatment was limited to mostly vitamins and other holistic healing methods. The family filled prescriptions for an anti-anxiety drug and a sleeping aid. Medical experts and a doctor who treated Jeremy after the murder dismiss these methods as ineffective for an individual with paranoid schizophrenia.
Today the Church of Scientology claims more than 10 million members worldwide. Its religious opposition to psychiatry is well-known. In June of 2005, the issue was brought to national attention when actor Tom Cruise took a very public stance on NBC’s "Today" show. "I know that psychiatry is a pseudo-science," he told Matt Lauer. "You don’t know the history of psychiatry. I do." Van Sant examines the roots of Scientology’s opposition to psychiatry and the tragic death of a caring mother who desperately wanted to help her beloved son. '

"WAY TO GO, jerald !!!" The People's Voice Has Been Heard!! SCIENTOLOGY and CCHR: CAUGHT IN THE ACT
What fools these cult members must be to think that they can post the same article twice and claim different authors!
Shame on Scientology aka Citizens Commission on Human Rights for that act of DECEPTION!!

An alert critic named ' jerald' spotted it and mentioned the duplicity and deception in his comment on the article. I was reminded of Arnie Lerma's famous outing of the church's 'man with no head' pictures as featured in the Washington Post article "Scientology's Funny Photos" ?
The editor emailed jerald....I have copied and linked jerald's posting of that reply from ars.

I do not condone the abuse of this site. It's purpose is to provide a source of information to the public. Thank you for bringing this abuse of the site to my attention. I cannot remove the article because it would leave a gap on the net. I will be on the lookout for this sort of thing in the future. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I didn't even complain to them. But seems they don't like people posting the same story again under a different name. LOL

THE TRUTH ABOUT SCIENTOLOGY, CCHR & THE MENTALLY ILL

I was a Scientologist who thought Dianetics and Scientology were the solutions to the problems of the mentally ill, not the psychs or pharmacutical industry, who were 'our enemies'.
The truth is, the Church of Scientology does not have solutions to help the mentally ill; they do not want to help the mentally ill become healthy nor do they have a technology to help them and others prone to these debilitating conditions.
The mentally ill are poster-boys and poster-girls for CCHR's agenda to destroy Scientology's perceived enemy : first the 'psychs' now the 'pharmas' as they have come to to be known.
This rumor of there not being a "chemical imbalance" was manufactured by CCHR, who conveniently fail to provide commonly known scientific evidence which actually supports the fact that such an imbalance exists.
Those 3 state representatives have been hoodwinked by the 'Cult of Scientology' and shame on them for accepting rumor in place of fact when making this accusation. (If in fact the story os even true to begin with.)
CCHR would have us believe that the FDA knows nothing about chemistry and lacks the best interests of consumers nationwide when approving medications; this is false.
Don't you be hoodwinked, too
The internet abounds in research documentation supporting that a chemical imbalance is at the root of mental illness. Even alternative medicine researchers agree. CCHR does not want you to read these things, They want to imbed your mind with THEIR propaganda because if psychiatry prevails, Scientology dies. Take a look at some of the information available:
Mental Health Matters article The "Chemical Imbalance" in Mental Health Problems http://www.mental-health-matters.com/articles/article.php?artID=160
"Chemical Imbalance - What is Chemical Imbalance, What Causes It ..." http://www.anxiety-and-depression-solutions.com/articles/chemicalimba...
Read this Fair Use exerpt:
"Common chemical imbalances related to anxiety and depression related disorders that have been observed in clinical practice include:
Reduced availability of neurotransmitters like Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, GABA and acetylcholine.
Increased levels of toxic neurochemicals such as Homocysteine Lower levels of serum Magnesium, Zinc or Potassium
Unhealthy, or deficient levels of essential vitamins like B6, B9, B12 and Vitamin-C
Undersupply of key cofactors like amino acids that are used to help transport neurotransmitter precursors into the blood-brain barrier.
Increased cortisol stress hormone levels

If anyone wants to read how medication effects the chemical balance of the brain or any part of the human body that is ill, all you have to do is read the FDA drug approval reports for whichever medicine you are concerned about: http://www.fda.gov/cder/approval/index.htm
CCHR and it's mother 'church' Scientology have no alternative solution to help people suffering from brain chemical imbalances. Dianetic is not even a science and it is only employed to demonstate that one needs the religion called Scientology.
Some CCHR volunteers are victims of this cult because they THINK they are helping people and they THINK Scientology and Dianetics are the answers which the mentally ill need - not psychiatry and medication. What is never made known to them is the fact that Scientology and CCHR are not doing this to help the mentally ill. They could care less about the mentally ill, or anyone physically or disabled.
This supposed Church actually bars the ill from participation because illness is like the mark of the beast to them. Here's two of many reports found on alt.religion.scientology google newsgroup discussing their distain of the disabled.
Read how charitable CCHR and the Cult of Scientology really are:
Former OC-ORG FBO-Admin by Rev Dr John Benjamin Tatum DD PhD wrote
"I have wanted to learn more. But now that I have all the time in the world (heck, I even completed my education), they do not seem to want me for staff or Sea Org. Because they see me as "damaged goods" since I am in a wheelchair. Still send me all of their fliers, but will not take me in (was even willing to go Sea Org). But I did not even get any books, cassettes, or other items because I could not afford them when I was on staff or even now since I have been on disability since February of 1989. http://groups.google.com/group/alt.religion.scientology/msg/7789eb200...
Disabled and Scientology...Questions....?
That is just a fraction of the information on what CCHR and the Church of Scientology are about and it's enough to make one sick.
The IRS should recind the tax exempt status of Citizens Commission on Human Rights and the main Church of Scientology organizations for misrepresentation and using tax-exempt dollars for it's HATE agenda against the mentally ill and the industries that are actually doing something better their lives.
Their manner of attacks and goal of destroy the pharmacutical and psychiatric communities, all under the guise of spiritual need and religion.
Scientology an enemy of the disabled and those chronically in need of medical care. Not only do they shun them Scientology and Dianetics cannot help any one with mental health issues.
Dianetics is not even a science. It's not even modern. If it was, it would help people with mental illness become free of all the mental demons the book talks about. And since that fact could cost the church money, it is a fact they do not want you, the IRS and the FDA to know about. Instead, they've orchestrated a public scheme to attack those that ARE doing something to help the mentally ill:
The mental health field and the pharmacutical companies who make medications, who more often than not help those suffering from mental illness and related disorders.
You would think that Tom Cruise's apology to Brooke Shields would have humbled these nimwits at CCHR 'headquarters'.
I am not a proponient of any of these industries but it is ethically and morally wrong that CCHR and $cientology, acting in collusion, to be allowed to use tax free $$$$ from supposed "charitable" contributions to attack the very industries that are ACTUALLY helping people. I think it a crime. You should too.
Don't be deceived. Give credit where credit is due.

KAREN BLACK: IS SHE IN OR OUT OF SCIENTOLOGY?
Remember this July google groups post attributing comments to Karen Black as bad mouthing scientology?
"it's run by evil, greedy people and I don't want anything to do with them. "
Operation Clambake's alt.religion.scientology WEEK-IN-REVIEW
Volume 10, Issue 29 - July 22 2006
http://www.xenu.net/archive/WIR/wir10-29.html
Well, Arnie Lerma's EXPOSING THE CON at http://www.LERMANET. has pulled it's copy:
"Nota Bene: I have been reliably informed that A July 17th statement attributed to Actress Karen Black is not true, so the paragraph has been pulled, a further statement will follow as Lermanet.com is dedicated to telling you the truth. " http://www.lermanet.com/
Many of us would have liked it to be true- at least it be true that she is no longer Scientology. I am sure there is far too much to risk by going public, especially having a mother-in-law who is so involved for so many years and had numerous reasons to leave herself, but all HER kids are scientologists....... disconnection would seem very difficult unless several left at the same time.
Many families have been shattered by Hubbard's disconnection policy but truth exposed will be what sets people free.
Here's a recent expose' in the St. Petersburg Times Tampa Bay ed article:
"The unperson" "Scientologists who cross their religion can be declared suppressive persons, shunned by peers and ostracized by family"
By ROBERT FARLEY, Times Staff WriterPublished June 24, 2006
http://www.sptimes.com/2006/06/24/Tampabay/The_unperson.shtml
For those so effected or those wanting to leave but are fearful of being ostracized, there is hope and help. I love what the Aaron family is doing to correct this inherent injustice:
www.ReligiousShunning.org
I seek truth because the truth is what sets me free from the very things I am trapped by. Hubbard brilliantly designed a trap where a scientologist is lead by the anticipation of 'what is to come' -- NOT by--- 'what was actually delivered.' He even set it up so that complainers or doubters were ostracized, making it clear to members that they had better keep ther mouth shut. Which is what many members and ex-members sadly do. Hubbard was a brilliant man who took basic truths and expounded on them and twisted them to his own advantage, called in the troops to help him build this empire called Scientology.
The advantage was to control people as effortlessly as possible, call it religion and gain power and money at the expense of it's victims.
So I don't blame gifted people like Karen Black and Renee Duke for not taking a public stand against scientology even if they wanted to. It's easier to say nada. Just live life in spite of it.
Karen has her own blog http://karenblackactress.blogspot.com/ which I have posted to, and her own web site www.karenblack.com .
I notice good choices and changes in recent times. Coincidence or not, Karen gets kudos for living life on her terms. Not the terms dictated by others, esp those under scientology's influence.
